"ER" heartthrob Goran Visnjic has been ordered to appear in a Croatian court later this month in relation to a paternity battle with a local woman who claims the actor is the father of her child.
Visnjic, who has been wed to sculptor Ivana Vrdoljak since 1999, has admitted to having an affair with Mirela Rupic and agreed to take a DNA test to determine parentage of her 5-month-old daughter.
Visnjic claims he remembers nothing from his romantic encounter with Rupic, which took place in the summer of 2006, because he was jetlagged and drunk.
But the 34-year-old will now be forced to travel to his native country to face the lawsuit, and meet Rupic's demand of $1,800-a-month in child support if the paternity test is positive.
Rupic's lawyer, Nenad Skare, says, "In August, a Zagreb court (in Croatia) informed us that the accused is denying our suit and proposing that DNA testing to establish paternity (of the child) be done in the U.S. where he lives."
Visnjic's attorney confirmed the star will undergo DNA testing before the scheduled court date of September 26.
The star and his wife have a son, Tin, who they adopted in April.

After Back Injury Actress Jenna Fischer is ready to start shooting the new season of the TV hit "The Office," almost three months after she fractured her back in four places.
The 33-year-old injured herself when she fell down a flight of stairs at New York club Buddakan on May 15.
Doctors advised her to rest for 12 weeks, and, although Fischer is still suffering, she's all set to start filming.
She tells People.com, "I'm still sore. I have good days and so-so days. I'm definitely able to work.
"Truthfully, I'm not in a lot of pain anymore. It's more some discomfort. I don't have a headache, but I would say it's comparable to having a low-grade headache."
However, Fischer admits she has a way to go to full recovery.
She adds, "There are little things all the time that I don't realize I can't do until I try to do them, like parallel park my car. It's the twisting behind me. It's certain muscles that you're not sure about yet.
"I'm just going to try to roll with it. Everyone is so supportive and concerned. I know it's going to be OK."

Messner also told the host she has told her doctors not to tell her how long she has to live.
She said, "I asked them not to tell me. I don't want my faith levels to go away."
And when King asked, "Are you in pain?" tragic Messner responded, "All the time."
But she refuses to let cancer kill her spirit, saying, "I believe when I leave this earth, I'm going straight to heaven."

Married "E.R." star Goran Visnjic has agreed to take a paternity test to see if he is the father of a Croatian woman's child.
Visnjic, who has been wed to sculptor Ivana Vrdoljak since 1999, has admitted to having an affair with Mirela Rupic, who filed paternity papers against him earlier this month after alleging the actor fathered her 4-month-old daughter.
Visnjic claims he remembers nothing from his romantic encounter with Rupic, which took place last summer, because he was jetlagged and drunk.
But the 34-year-old has agreed to take a DNA test to determine whether he fathered Rupic's baby -- and has agreed to pay child support if the girl is his.
However, Visnjic has no plans to seek custody of the child.
He tells Croatian magazine Story, "(The affair) is not something that I'm proud of, of course. But I am ready to accept all the consequences of my act."
He adds, "I was always against cheating. I still can't believe I did it."
